Character close-up orientation
Built for character shots that need readable facial performance. Close-ups, talking-head-style shots, and lifestyle character clips land closer to a character deliverable than pure motion-oriented tiers.
Shengshu Technology · Vidu Q1
Vidu Q1 is an earlier character-first model in Shengshu's Vidu line, often listed under the slug vidu in open catalogs. It emphasizes readable micro-expressions and relatively smooth body motion, suited to character close-up test takes and projects still on the Q1 workflow. Compared with the newer Vidu Q2 family, Q2 continues to improve motion coherence and expression detail; if your workflow isn't locked in yet, we'd suggest comparing Q2 / Q2 Pro directly for new projects. Actual duration, resolution, and references follow the current iMini workspace tier. Select Vidu Q1 in the iMini video workspace to use it.

The Q1 generation already emphasized reducing visible motion jumps. Simple walking, turning, and gesture scenes work well as character-direction test takes.
Once a test take clears, move up to Vidu Q2 or Q2 Pro for the character final cut; for faster comparisons, look at Q2 Turbo.
Compare Kling for complex human motion and ensemble scenes; compare Seedance 2.5 for longer single-pass brand storytelling with multi-reference control.
All three can produce character- or motion-led shorts. The differences come down to generational capability, motion orientation, and audio-video capability.

Your workflow is still tied to the Q1 generation, you only need character-led test takes, and you don't yet need Q2-level performance.
It's a new project, or you need the Q2 generation's stronger motion coherence and expression detail.
You need complex human motion, ensemble scenes, or multilingual dialogue with A/V sync.
Three steps from opening the workspace to exporting a test clip.
Go to iMini video creation and select Vidu Q1.
Spell out the character, emotion, and shot; upload character reference images too if you have them.
Export once the test take clears, or move to Vidu Q2 / Q2 Pro for the finished cut.
